The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 652

"Yulen..." Seeing him zone out, Giselle couldn't help but call his name.

Yulen snapped back to reality and told her, "I have some work to finish tonight, so I've got to run. If you need someone to run errands for you, you can call my assistant."

He still considered her a friend. If she needed something, he wouldn't completely ignore her.

But that was as far as it went.

"Yulen, couldn't you stay just a little longer?"

Giselle just wanted someone by her side while she was feeling vulnerable.

"Sorry," Yulen said flatly.

With that, he stood up, ready to leave.

Suddenly, Giselle tumbled out of the bed, her face deathly pale, looking utterly fragile and pitiful.

Given that they had shared an intimate history and she had often helped him sort through his emotional baggage, Yulen couldn't bring himself to be entirely heartless. He bent down and scooped her up into his arms.

Once he placed her back on the mattress, he tried to pull his hands away, but she suddenly threw her arms around his neck. "Please, Yulen. Just stay with me a little longer."

Seeing how desperately she needed him, Yulen finally relented. "Alright."

Tallulah Shipley had recently checked Yulen's dashcam footage and discovered he'd been driving to the hospital a lot lately.

She assumed he was sick and planned to use the opportunity to care for him, hoping it would help them reconcile.

To her shock, when she followed him to the hospital, she found him tending to a bedridden Giselle.

The flames of fury nearly swallowed her whole.

She waited outside the room for a long time. The moment Yulen left, she stormed in and screamed at Giselle, "You shameless bitch! How long are you going to keep clinging to my husband?"

Thanks to Yulen's recent care, Giselle was looking quite vibrant. She watched Tallulah lose her mind with an amused smile and replied in a sickeningly sweet, nonchalant tone: "Tallulah, don't misunderstand. Yulen and I are just friends. I'm in the hospital, so he just dropped by to check on me, that's all. Don't worry, I won't fight you for anything, because I don't see him that way at all."

But now, that radiant allure was completely gone.

Yulen shoved her aside and reached out to help Giselle up, instructing the nurse to tend to her scratches.

Tallulah's back slammed hard against the cabinet. The piercing pain left her crumpled on the floor, unable to pull herself up.

Watching Yulen fawn over Giselle, she was instantly reminded of the past—how Yulen had ruthlessly hurt Winona just for her sake.

She had been so smug back then. Now, she was the one left pathetic and broken.

So, a man who could change his heart once could easily do it again.

She wanted to crawl over, grab him, and scream in his face, asking him why he had betrayed her, but she couldn't muster an ounce of strength.

Tears slid silently down from the corners of her eyes. She just stared at him, her gaze brimming with absolute hatred.
