The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 656

The man had worn himself out arguing with Karina. Hearing Winona's threat, he sneered dismissively, "Go ahead and report me! The fact that I can keep this dog here proves my wealth and status mean no one can touch me."

Winona's expression turned frigid.

Karina fired back angrily from the sidelines, "No one can touch you? Are you really that important? Why don't you enlighten us!"

The man bragged that he was the brother-in-law of the CEO of a major Riverton real estate firm and currently served as the company's Vice President.

Karina instantly burst out laughing. "Throwing your weight around for nothing! You're just a VP, and you're acting like you own the world!"

She turned to Winona. "Just tell Stefan to make a call. This guy's VP days will be over in a second."

Winona replied calmly, "Let's call building management first. He's keeping a banned aggressive breed on the premises. They absolutely know about it, which means they're liable too."

With that, she dialed the property manager's number.

The manager rushed up to the floor in record time.

Seeing him, Lance and his wife maintained their arrogant posture.

Normally, the manager would treat this couple with the utmost respect. This time, however, he bypassed them entirely and bowed apologetically to Winona. "I am so sorry. This was a massive oversight on our part. I hope you aren't too shaken up."

Winona stared at him. "They are keeping a pitbull in the building. Are you telling me management didn't know?"

The property manager looked utterly helpless.

They had warned the couple before, but Lance and his wife simply refused to listen, swearing they could control the dog.

Since there hadn't been any incidents prior, management had turned a blind eye. Who could have known the pitbull would bolt out of the apartment today and maul Winona's dog?

The property manager had worked in this luxury complex for years and knew that every resident was a heavy hitter in Riverton. He couldn't afford to offend any of them lightly.

But when a conflict erupted and he was forced to choose a side, he had to weigh the pros and cons and align himself with whoever held the highest status.

She was busy, and she certainly didn't have the time or emotional energy to waste bickering with trashy people.

The property manager was stunned. She looked so gentle, yet she operated with such ruthless, uncompromising efficiency.

Working at this complex paid double the market rate.

Terrified of losing his lucrative job, the manager's attitude instantly shifted to one of extreme diligence. "Understood. Please leave it to me, Ms. Jowett."

Lance tried to keep screaming.

Winona shot him an ice-cold glare. "If you keep causing a scene outside my door, I'll have my bodyguards throw you out."

A minute ago, Lance had assumed she was just some easy target. But seeing her flanked by bodyguards, watching the manager grovel to her, and hearing her speak with such poised, terrifying authority, a chill ran down his spine.

Had he actually messed with someone untouchable?
