It had been a lifetime since Sylvan had shared a meal with Wynne. Trying to suppress his overwhelming giddiness, he poured her a glass of wine.
"What are you in the mood for? The braised short ribs here are spectacular. You used to love them—should we order a plate?"
Wynne ignored the wine. She casually flipped through the menu, picked a few light dishes, and locked eyes with him. "Cut the small talk. Why am I here?"
She had zero interest in reminiscing. She was here for the money.
Sylvan glanced at the dishes she ordered, realizing her tastes had completely changed. After so many years apart, he essentially knew nothing about the woman sitting across from him.
Clearing his throat, he slid a leather binder across the table. "This is a breakdown of my assets. I'm setting up trusts for Winona—real estate, cash flow, the works. I'm handing Forrest a chunk of equity and bringing him into the C-suite to groom him as my successor."
Wynne flipped open the folder. Exactly as she predicted. Winona got the flashy toys; Forrest got the actual power.
"And what about your other son?" she asked sharply. "How much is Zachariah getting?"
Sylvan's smile faltered. He hadn't expected her to go straight for the jugular.
"Just five percent. Wynne, I never lived with his mother, and I only communicate with her regarding his schooling. They get a modest ten grand a month, nothing more."
"Five percent?" Wynne let out a harsh bark of laughter. "The cars and condos you're tossing at Winona aren't even worth five percent of the Scully Group. You're unbelievable."
