The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 717

Sylvan's chest heaved with rage.

His own flesh and blood was calling Ryder 'Dad' while addressing him as 'Mr. Scully.'

And she was buying clothes for Ryder? On what grounds? The man had stolen his wife and now he was stealing his children!

Blinded by fury, Sylvan lunged forward, throwing a punch at Ryder.

But Ryder, who had a background in competitive sports, was physically leagues above a desk-bound academic like Sylvan. With effortless grace, Ryder caught Sylvan's arm and shoved him hard to the side.

Sylvan stumbled back, only saved from hitting the floor by his assistant who rushed in to catch him. His face burned bright red with humiliation. Unable to withstand the whispers and stares of the surrounding guests, Sylvan turned on his heel and stormed out of the banquet hall.

At eleven o'clock that night, Sylvan dialed Wynne's number, furious. He demanded to know why she was brainwashing their daughter to view Ryder as her father.

"She is my flesh and blood!" he barked into the receiver. "What right does Ryder Powell have to play father to my child?"

Wynne waited for him to finish his tantrum before replying, her voice ice-cold. "You're throwing a fit over a title and a coat? Ryder didn't hesitate for a second to give Winona and Forrest company shares. And you? You penny-pinch with your legitimate children while handing equity over to your bastard son. With that kind of behavior, you expect them to honor you? Keep dreaming."

She hung up without another word.

But Sylvan refused to give up. He could handle losing Wynne, but losing his children was unacceptable. He convinced himself that with enough effort, they would eventually come around.

The next afternoon, Winona saw Jericho and Killian heading out of the lab. "Heading to a lunch meeting, Mr. Harper?"

Jericho nodded. "Yeah, Mr. Scully wants to talk about the project."
