The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 719

A look of pure disgust crossed Forrest's face. "The woman you brought into our lives, Giselle? She was a snake. She nearly permanently disabled my arm and almost got my mother and sister killed. And you? You stroll in here acting like none of it ever happened, demanding we play happy family. You are unbelievably arrogant, Mr. Scully. To you, Winona and I aren't your children. We're just trophies you want to parade around to show off your perfect, successful life."

Lately, Wynne had been visiting him every day, bringing him meals and sitting with him through his lingering physical therapy sessions. He could feel her genuine guilt, her heartbreak, and her love.

But Sylvan? Sylvan only showed up to assert his patriarchal dominance, expecting Forrest and Winona to bow down and be his obedient little heirs. Sylvan didn't love them. Sylvan only loved himself.

Hearing his son's brutal assessment, Sylvan's face darkened with rage.

"Is that how you speak to your father, Forrest?!"

The second the words left his mouth, he regretted them. If he had raised Forrest for twenty years, he would have every right to scold him. But he hadn't been there for a single day. Until recently, they were strangers. Snapping at him now only proved Forrest's point and pushed him further away.

Sylvan wanted to apologize, but his ego wouldn't allow him to back down.

Forrest's expression turned arctic. "As I recall, you have another son. If you feel the need to discipline someone, go find him. Leave me out of it. I have work to do. See yourself out."

Furious and deeply embarrassed, Sylvan stormed out of the lab. He hadn't expected his son to be just as stubborn and unyielding as his daughter. Was he really doomed to never have a relationship with his own flesh and blood?

Returning home, Sylvan was so enraged he couldn't eat or sleep.

The next day, he called Wynne.

Before he could even get a word out, she cut to the chase. "Have you finally decided to transfer the shares and the money to Forrest and Winona?"
