The next morning, Tallulah got up to make breakfast.
The maid was in the kitchen, meticulously brewing a highly expensive artisan wellness broth.
Tallulah couldn't help but ask, "Is that for me?"
"No," the maid replied. "Willow asked me to prepare it. She's going to give it to someone as a gift."
Tallulah was curious. Who on earth was Willow going out of her way to impress?
At nine o'clock, Willow finally came down to eat.
It was Saturday, so Tallulah didn't have to work. She sat at the table to keep her mother-in-law company.
Between bites, Willow instructed, "Tomorrow, I want some light salads and appetizers. Put something together. Also, Paige and the kids are coming over, so bake some cookies and press some fresh juice."
Tallulah nodded obediently. "Got it."
Seeing how compliant she was, Willow refrained from making any snide remarks. She finished her meal and got up to leave.
"Are you heading out?" Tallulah asked. "Who is the broth for?"
Willow shot her a glare. "Do I need to report my whereabouts to you? As for the broth, it's naturally for someone who needs it."
A surge of resentment bubbled up in Tallulah's chest.
She didn't start a fight, though. Instead, she waited for Willow to leave, then quietly grabbed her car keys and tailed her.
Meanwhile, Winona had finished breakfast with Wynne and was taking a stroll downstairs with her.
As they chatted, an uninvited guest appeared.
Winona frowned, not understanding why Willow was here again.
