The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 766

Winona laughed, holding up her haul. "Trading one plant for all of this? I definitely came out on top."

"Please, as if our friendship could be measured in things," Joanna waved it off.

Joanna was the complete opposite of her sister, Willow. She didn't care about societal expectations and lived her life loudly and unapologetically.

Meanwhile, Willow operated like a matriarch trapped in the Victorian era, strictly enforcing archaic rules and expecting everyone in the family to bow down and cater to her every whim.

"Come on, dinner is ready!" Joanna announced. "We're having Italian food tonight. I flew a chef in just for this, and his cooking is absolutely divine."

Winona took her seat at the sprawling dining table. Seated next to her were two incredibly handsome, blonde, blue-eyed men.

They were cousins of Joanna's new husband, whom Winona had briefly met at the wedding. Fascinated by Riverton's local culture, they eagerly struck up a conversation with her.

Just then, a tall silhouette appeared in the dining room doorway.

Winona glanced up, and her smile instantly vanished.

It was Yulen.

Joanna hadn't told him she was back in the country, so she was visibly taken aback. "Yulen? What are you doing here?"

Yulen offered a pristine fruit basket to the housekeeper. "My assistant saw you at the airport, so I figured you were back."

He had shown up entirely uninvited, banking on the chance that Joanna would invite Winona over. He just wanted to test his luck, and miraculously, it had paid off.

Not wanting to ruin Winona's night, Joanna deliberately directed Yulen to a seat at the absolute farthest end of the table.

Determined not to let him spoil the mood, Winona pretended he was entirely invisible.

The private chef's cooking was indeed spectacular, and Winona ended up eating more than she had in weeks.

After dinner, Joanna suggested a game to keep the energy up.

It was a twist on 'Never Have I Ever'. They went around the table sharing a secret or something crazy they had done for love. If someone else had done it too, they had to take a penalty.
