The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 775

Wynne gently cupped Winona's cheek. "Your body changed because of the hormone treatments for the baby. You went through all of that to bring a new life into this world. That makes you incredibly brave and beautiful. Don't worry about the weight. After the baby is born, we can work out together and get back in shape—if that's what you want. As long as you're healthy, that's all that matters."

Wrapped in Wynne's unwavering warmth, Winona felt her insecurities melt away. It felt amazing to finally have a mother like her.

Once her hair and makeup were flawless, Wynne signaled a server to bring in a steaming bowl of Belle's Soup. "You're eating for two now, sweetie, and you have to be careful with your diet. The catering tonight might be too rich for you, so I want you to have this first."

Wynne had thought of absolutely everything. Touched, Winona thanked her and took a spoonful. The yam was silky smooth, blending perfectly with the rich, naturally sweet soy milk base. "Mom, this is incredible," Winona hummed in delight.

Wynne beamed. "This was made by Hetty, your grandmother's personal chef. It's her specialty. Your grandmother loves it, and she guessed you would too."

Winona's heart swelled. She hadn't even met Elaine yet, but her grandmother was already spoiling her. After she finished the soup, Wynne took her hand and led her toward the grand ballroom.

They had rented out the most exclusive, opulent hotel in the Capital for the night. Wynne wanted to give her daughter the absolute best, and cost was irrelevant.

As soon as they stepped through the double doors, Winona noticed two elegant, silver-haired women standing nearby, watching her intently. Wynne pointed to the woman in a stunning sapphire gown. "That's your grandmother, Elaine. And the lovely woman next to her is Ryder's mother, Pansy."

Winona walked toward them, her heart pounding. Elaine couldn't take her eyes off her. Before Winona even opened her mouth, tears began streaming down the older woman's face. "Oh, Winona... welcome home, my darling."

A lump formed in Winona's throat. "Grandma," she whispered softly.
