Karina looked genuinely confused. "Winona is brilliant. There's nothing shameful about working for her. And those jobs you set up for me? They just treated me like a VIP mascot so they could get investment money from our families. They didn't actually want to teach me anything. Winona is different. She actually mentors me. Thanks to her, I might actually become a lead researcher one day."
Margaret didn't think Winona was brilliant; she just thought Karina was painfully gullible.
"You're just like Stefan. One little push and you're totally brainwashed by that woman," Margaret scoffed.
Karina realized just how deep her aunt's prejudice ran. She couldn't help but defend her boss. "Aunt Margaret, if you just dropped the bias and actually tried to get to know her, you'd realize she's an incredible person. Honestly, she's the best thing that ever happened to Stefan."
Margaret let out a harsh laugh.
"You are completely beyond saving if you genuinely believe that garbage."
Done arguing, Margaret turned her attention back to the house. The more she looked around, the more she hated everything.
She walked over to the front door and snapped her fingers at the two bodyguards waiting outside. "Come in here. Grab everything I point at and throw it in the trash."
She started gesturing wildly around the living room. "These tacky throw pillows, the blankets, the mugs on the counter, those ugly ornaments. Go into the bathroom and toss all the towels and the toothbrushes... What kind of garbage is this? My son does not use cheap, low-class trash. Get rid of it all!"
She then marched back into the master bedroom, tore into Stefan's walk-in closet, and yanked several casual shirts and jackets off the hangers, throwing them on the floor in a heap.
Karina followed her in, horrified. "Aunt Margaret, what are you doing? Why are you throwing out Stefan's clothes?"
"The house is a mess. I'm doing them a favor by cleaning up," she replied coldly.
Karina couldn't believe what she was seeing. This was entirely crossing the line.
