The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 819

"Stefan, you have to help me! I was just trying to do a nice thing and tidy up your house so you'd be more comfortable, and Winona actually called the cops on me! She's accusing me of vandalism! That house belongs to you, which means it belongs to our family. Don't I have the right to clean it?"

Stefan frowned, saying nothing.

Margaret turned back to the older female officer behind the desk, complaining loudly. "There was absolutely no reason to drag the police into a family dispute. It's so humiliating. But that's just how kids are these days. They resent their elders. They just want us out of the way. No matter what I do, I'm always the villain."

The officer, a woman in her late forties whose own son had a girlfriend that treated her like an annoyance, felt a deep wave of sympathy for Margaret.

Leaning forward, the officer tried to mediate. "These young women today really do have a lot of attitude. When we got married, we had to wait on our in-laws hand and foot. Now, the mothers-in-law are the ones doing the chores and babysitting, and they're still never happy. Calling the cops over a little spring cleaning is a complete waste of police resources."

Hearing the officer take her side, Margaret felt a surge of smug vindication.

Karina couldn't take it anymore.

She also felt her aunt was completely out of line.

Margaret hadn't been 'cleaning.' She was throwing a violent tantrum, destroying anything she personally disliked.

Even Karina could see she was just taking her rage out on their property.

"That's a lie, and you can't blame Winona for this," Karina spoke up, completely ignoring her aunt's glare. "I was there. My aunt was just throwing their belongings in the trash. She wasn't cleaning anything."

Margaret shot her a venomous look.

The ungrateful little brat was actually siding with the enemy.
