After Wynne left, Winona took a brief rest.
At 1:55 PM, she headed into the conference room. Shiloh immediately approached, placing a glass of warm water in front of her with a soft smile. "In case you get thirsty during the meeting."
Karina Shepherd instantly picked up on Shiloh's suffocating attentiveness. Over the past few days, the guy had found every possible excuse to hover around Winona's office—bringing her food, fetching her drinks, asking if she was too hot or too cold. It was blindingly obvious what he was up to. While Karina used to dislike Winona, things were different now; she genuinely wanted Stefan and Winona to be happy. This Shiloh guy wedging himself in was definitely up to no good.
Seeing Shiloh maneuver to take the seat right next to Winona, Karina lunged for it, dropping into the chair with a bright, plastic smile. "Shiloh, I need to take the meeting minutes! Sitting here lets me hear everything perfectly. You don't mind, do you?"
Shiloh maintained a strained, gentlemanly smile. "Not at all. I'll sit somewhere else."
When the meeting wrapped up, Winona started organizing her files. Shiloh stepped forward to help, but Karina intercepted him smoothly. "I can't just collect a paycheck for nothing! Don't steal my job, Shiloh."
Forced to yield with a helpless smile, Shiloh left the room.
Once the door clicked shut, Karina leaned in. "He's actually trying to woo you with these pathetic little favors. Talk about delusional. He couldn't even compare to a single hair on Stefan's head."
Winona just smiled and didn't reply.
Right before clocking out, Shiloh returned to Winona's office to deliver a final report. Once he finished presenting, Winona looked at him levelly.
"Shiloh, from now on, you can just send these updates to me via the messaging app. There's no need for you to come in and report in person every time."
Sensing her sudden distance, he tried to play it cool. "It's just a habit from my last job. If you prefer, I'll text you next time."
Winona nodded. "Also, I transferred you the money for the candy and juice you bought me today. Check your phone."
