The Wife He Ignored Became the Woman He Couldn't Reach novel Chapter 2

A jolt of shock rocked Serena's core.

It was Gwen Gardner!

Gwen, the woman who had shared a lavish engagement party with Sebastian three years ago, only to abandon him and flee the country right before their wedding.

She was actually back?

Sebastian had always been awful to her, but he had never degraded her by demanding condoms before.

No wonder he wanted them in the middle of the night.

His ex-fiancée had returned.

Sebastian didn't look the least bit surprised to see Serena walk in.

His gaze held nothing but absolute control and a condescending, arrogant sneer.

He stared at her pitiful, pale state and drawled,

"Why did you come out looking like that?"

Anyone would think she had just been victimized.

Serena ignored the curious, disdainful stares of the onlookers.

She forced her way through the crowd, walked right up to Sebastian, pulled the box from her pocket, and offered it to him.

Her voice was barely a whisper. "What you asked for."

Her fingers trembled slightly, though whether from the searing physical pain or the crushing humiliation, she didn't know.

Sebastian didn't even reach out to take it.

A heavily intoxicated rich kid sitting nearby burst into laughter. "Damn, Sebastian! You've got it made!"

"Your wife is so considerate! Knowing she's pregnant and can't take care of your needs, she personally delivered supplies for you and Gwen!"

"Hahaha! I've seen submissive women before, but a pregnant wife delivering condoms to her husband at midnight? That's a first!"

The entire booth erupted in malicious, mocking laughter.

"Such a generous wife!"

"Sebastian is a lucky man. A devoted wife at home, and the beautiful Gwen on the side."

However, Sebastian merely leaned back into the plush leather, a wicked smirk playing on his lips.

She didn't spare him another glance, nor did she acknowledge the room's mocking stares.

Instead, she forced herself to turn around, stumbling out of the room as if escaping the pits of hell.

As soon as she crossed the threshold, she heard the men gossiping loudly.

"I told you, Sebastian only cares about Gwen. Serena is just some scheming gold digger he hasn't managed to shake off yet. There's no way he actually likes her."

Gwen's gentle, diplomatic voice drifted out, lightly scolding them.

"That's enough, guys. Serena is still his wife. Even if she resorted to extreme measures back then, she did it because she wanted to marry him."

"They've been married for three years now, and she's three months pregnant. Let's just leave the past in the past."

One of the men scoffed indignantly.

"She shamelessly tried to climb into his uncle's bed, then stood stubbornly outside his grandfather's door for three days begging! Who knows if she did it for Sebastian or just to throw herself at the family's wealth? You call that 'wanting to marry him'?"

"She just saw her own family's company going bankrupt and wanted to leach off the Sinclairs!"

"But seriously, Sebastian. Now that Gwen is back, aren't you going to divorce Serena and marry her?"

"Are you really going to let Serena have your baby?"
