Someone in the crowd started cheering, "He's going to find his girlfriend!"
"Look at this guy, forgetting about his brothers the second he gets a girl. You've barely been here and you're already itching to run back to her."
Gardenia spoke up softly, "It's my birthday today, you know. Can't you stay a little longer? If you're so eager to see your girlfriend, you can just invite her here to hang out with us."
Marvin shook his head. "She's an introvert. She doesn't like big crowds."
Gardenia pursed her lips before asking, "Does your girlfriend have a problem with you having female friends? Has she ever mentioned me? If she's bothered by it, I can explain things to her. You can give me her contact info and I'll add her."
Marvin was caught completely off guard by Gardenia's aggressive questioning. He quickly replied, "No, it's fine. Really. She doesn't mind, she's just shy. I'll stay for a piece of cake before I go."
Marvin didn't want to make it obvious that his attitude toward Gardenia had shifted.
Gardenia nodded. "Alright, I'll have someone cut the cake now."
While Natalie was having dinner with Nancy Gaines, she scrolled past a social media post from Gardenia.
Gardenia had seamlessly integrated herself into Hassan's inner circle. After all, they had all gone to the same university and had been on the same team.
Being the only woman surrounded by a group of powerful men made her look like the cherished princess of the group.
Natalie swiped right past it.
Then, she stumbled upon a post on Kara Langley's timeline—a photo of Kara and Gardenia in a dance studio from four years ago.
"This is seriously abnormal. It's incredibly flat, and more importantly, there isn't the slightest hint that she's ever carried a child."
Nancy studied the photo for a moment before saying, "Well, maybe she just genetically doesn't scar. You dropped off those DNA samples at the lab before, right? If the kid really isn't Hassan's biological son, why would Hassan order the hospital to alter the results?"
Natalie nodded. "That's a good point."
She hadn't paid too much attention to the matter.
Nancy added, "But are you just going to ignore the whole illegitimate child thing? You should probably keep some solid evidence. If it's too difficult to do it locally, you could always send it to a lab overseas. You might as well get Gardenia's DNA tested while you're at it."
Natalie nodded. "I'll head back to Sycamore Quays and grab Hassan's sample first. As for Gardenia and the kid, I'll wait and see if an opportunity pops up."
