"Hassan, what are you looking at?" Gardenia, already sitting in the car, asked in confusion when she saw him open the door but hesitate to get in.
Hassan pulled his gaze back and said coolly, "Nothing. Are you heading straight home?"
Gardenia pressed her lips together, smiled, and said, "We haven't been back to the university in so long. Why don't we go take a look? We can show Adrian your alma mater while we're at it."
Hassan glanced at the rearview mirror. Adrian was sitting in the back, quietly leaning over the center console to solve math problems. He looked incredibly focused, as if he had completely entered his own world, utterly deaf to their conversation.
After a moment, Hassan spoke up, "Alright, let's go."
Gardenia smiled.
Sitting in the passenger seat of the Bentley, Natalie suddenly received a message from Nancy.
"Did you manage to get the DNA sample yet? The doctor you asked me to contact just messaged to say he happens to be in the country for a seminar tomorrow. It would be best if you gave it to him then."
Seeing the message, Natalie paused, trying to figure out how to get her hands on it.
Just then, Hassan's Rolls-Royce cruised past them.
It was moving rather fast, overtaking Marvin completely.
She held her phone and texted Hassan.
"Where are you going?"
If possible, Natalie wanted to find a way to secure the sample today.
On the other end, Hassan's phone buzzed on the center console.
Gardenia, sitting in the passenger seat, proactively picked it up. "Looks like someone texted you."
She looked at the man in the driver's seat. "It's Natalie. Do you want me to reply for you?"
Hassan thought for a moment, reached over, and unlocked the phone with his fingerprint.
Gardenia tapped right into the message. Her lips pressed together slightly as she said, "Natalie is asking where you're going."
Hassan simply said, "The university."
Gardenia typed the response and sent it.
"She says she wants to come too," Gardenia noted, glancing at him.
Seeing that his expression remained exceptionally cold at those words, showing no other emotion, she wondered what was going through his mind. He didn't seem to like Natalie at all, so why wouldn't he divorce her? Reaching Hassan's position, was he really staying married purely for the sake of business interests?
He clearly didn't need to worry about those things anymore.
Hassan remained silent for a long time. After a while, he finally spoke, "Send her the address."
Gardenia paused; she hadn't expected him to actually agree. "Okay."
