The plaza was wide and expansive, with a stone statue in the center. Because exams were approaching, the base of the statue was piled high with fruits and snacks, and several students were standing before it with their hands pressed together in prayer.

Natalie remembered when Hassan first started his university military training. She had still been on her summer break, so she could openly walk onto the campus and stand by the statue to watch him.

Natalie had always been pretty. Even though she was young back then, she had already blossomed into a tall, striking beauty. While she had her eyes fixed on Hassan, quite a few people had their eyes fixed on her.

As soon as Hassan was dismissed, he would come looking for her. She would boldly declare that since she was on break and had nothing better to do, she just came to see him, which couldn't possibly be considered neglecting her studies.

After Natalie visited a few days in a row, Hassan signed her up for an extracurricular tutoring program and a snowboarding class, packing her schedule to the brim. Her grandparents, who were both teachers, valued academics highly, so they fully supported his arrangement.

At first, Natalie didn't want to go, but Hassan promised that once she learned how to snowboard, he would take her to a ski resort.

So she spent a month learning. By the time her classes ended, Hassan's military training was over, her vacation was up, and she had to go back to her own school, leaving her with no excuse to visit him.

Later, she started secretly contacting his friends to find out his schedule.

Once, at a bar, Natalie pretended to bump into him by chance, only for Hassan to drag her home and warn her never to go there again.

Natalie had been completely defiant. "You went there too, so why can't I?"

He said, "I'm different from you."

Natalie retorted, "We're both human, what's the difference?"

Hassan slowly leaned in, close enough that they could feel each other's breath. Natalie's face flushed bright red, and she didn't even dare to breathe. She heard his low voice murmur, "I'm a guy, and you're a girl. Don't you know who stands to lose more?"

Natalie wasn't scared at all. She gave a cheeky smile. "You're so handsome, it's definitely your loss."

But Natalie was more than happy to let him boss her around. She agreed to whatever he said, and she never went to the bar again.

Walking across the campus plaza, those memories surfaced with razor-sharp clarity. Things she thought she had long forgotten were suddenly vivid again.
