Walking out of the restroom, she was drying her hands when she spotted Hassan in the hallway.

He was leaning against the wall on the right side, a cigarette pinched casually between his long fingers. His posture was relaxed, his head tilted back slightly, and his eyes fell upon her. The smoke drifted across his faint, handsome features, masking the dark depths of his gaze.

They locked eyes for a brief second before looking away.

The way back was to her left. Just as Natalie was about to turn, his deep voice carried over from behind her, "Remember to take your pill."

It took a second for her brain to register what pill he was talking about. Last night.

When she woke up this morning, she specifically checked. He had definitely used protection.

Her brows furrowed. Before her lips could even part to speak, the man seemed to know exactly what she was thinking. He said flatly, "That was for the last round. I ran out of condoms."

His gaze casually drifted to the person walking up behind her. That single glance was profound and subtle, yet completely devoid of any heavy emotion. With practiced ease, he put out the glowing cherry of his cigarette and dropped it into the ashtray atop the trash can.

Natalie turned around, coming face to face with a slightly stunned Marvin.

She wasn't in a good mood. Without greeting him, she lowered her eyes and brushed right past him.

Marvin walked up to Hassan. "Hassan... aren't you guys getting a divorce?"

What kind of couple still slept together when they were getting divorced?

"Marvin, since you have a girlfriend, you need to focus on her. As for whether I get divorced or when that happens, it is none of your business." His voice was heavy, not particularly hostile, but laced with a chilling layer of frost.

After the meal, even though they were heading back to the exact same place, Natalie and Hassan left separately.

The water lilies at Sycamore Quays had bloomed. Natalie sat in the lakeside pavilion, quietly admiring them for a while.

On her phone, her 'Seven' account received a friend request from Gardenia. The note attached read: *Hello, I am the project lead for the robot's limited beta test. I'll be coordinating the beta issues with you.*

It seemed Hassan was truly paving the way for her. He handed her the best new projects and let her get involved in cutting-edge developments.

Natalie tapped accept.

A compiled file of beta test issues was immediately sent over.

It wasn't easy to review files on her phone, so she got up and headed back inside.
