Natalie casually took it. The color and style were right up her alley. She used to collect several of them, but those had all been bought with Hassan's money. She wouldn't touch them again.
It wasn't that she didn't want them, but she understood that taking things from him meant remaining under his thumb. Now, she just wanted to cut ties with him—completely and cleanly.
She could make her own money.
Natalie reached out to a luxury buyer. The buyer replied eagerly, saying they needed to appraise it in person.
She set up a meeting time, got out of bed to change clothes, and grabbed the bag, ready to head out.
Just then, the sound of the front door opening echoed through the house.
She ran straight into the man walking inside. His tall, broad frame exuded an overwhelming sense of pressure, forcing her to take a step back.
"Where are you going?" The man was holding a takeout container of seafood soup from her favorite spot.
"Out."
She tried to walk past him, but he grabbed her wrist.
"Your knees haven't healed yet. Why are you going out? What's the rush?" He pushed her gently into a dining chair and handed the soup to the maid.
Faye brought a small bowl from the kitchen, ladled out a portion of the seafood soup, and set it in front of Natalie.
Natalie didn't move.
The man sat next to her, frowning. "Tell me what you need to do, and I'll have someone handle it."
Without a hint of politeness, she slammed the bag onto the table. "Rhea sent this. I'm going to sell it."
He didn't care that she used his aunt's first name. Glancing at the bag on the table, he asked smoothly, "Are you short on cash?"
"The person who crashed into Gardenia yesterday was my aunt's son." Natalie stared right into him.
She watched his brows knit together, his voice dropping to a cool register. "Tilda told you?"
Natalie sneered. "So you already knew it was my cousin. Yet you never mentioned it to me. Are you feeling guilty?"
"What do I have to feel guilty about?" His gaze sharpened.
"Gardenia orchestrated that 'accident' on purpose, and just like last time, you're covering for her."
"Doing something like that wouldn't benefit her in the slightest." The man paused for a moment. "Besides, she was in a real accident before. She wouldn't be capable of faking something like this."
