Caspian froze for a second. "Hassan, you don't like it when Natalie gets drunk? I think it's pretty cute." He laughed unapologetically.

Cecily cleared her throat. "Mind your manners."

Caspian immediately dialed it back. "Sorry, I spoke without thinking." He shot a quick glance at Cyrus.

Cyrus quietly ate his food. Unless Cecily specifically asked him something, he never spoke unprompted at the dinner table.

After dinner, they went for a walk outside.

The rows of medlar trees lining the path had already turned a rich autumnal hue. Under the dim glow of the streetlamps, the dark brown fruits hung heavy among the yellowing leaves, their tops slightly cracked open. The scent blended seamlessly with the faint fragrance of roses in the air, creating a deeply tranquil atmosphere.

Caspian and Cyrus walked ahead with Cecily, while Hassan and Natalie trailed slightly behind.

Whenever Natalie was alone with Hassan, she simply refused to speak, maintaining absolute silence.

After a while, Cyrus intentionally fell back to walk beside Hassan, bringing up some work-related matters.

Mid-conversation, Cyrus asked, "I heard you're still looking for H? Any leads yet?"

Natalie, walking right beside them, instinctively held her breath.

"No," Hassan replied calmly.

Cyrus sighed. "It would be great to have a genius like her join the new project. But thankfully, Gardenia stepped in to save the day."

Hassan nodded, his tone betraying no emotion. "Make sure you fully cooperate with Gardenia."

"Will do. By the way, the small-scale beta testing for Seven's robot just finished. Have you thought about poaching her for the group?"

Natalie quickly looked away, staring at the medlar trees by the road, just as the man beside her replied in his deep voice, "Professor Adler's people aren't easy to poach. Just focus on finding H."

Perhaps she had completely zoned out, but Natalie accidentally tripped over the cobblestone path. A strong hand grabbed her shoulder, steadying her. "Are you drunk without even having a sip of wine?"

It was meant as a tease.

Cyrus's eyes darted between the married couple.

Natalie frowned, testing her footing. Her sprained ankle hadn't fully healed, and that slight stumble made it flare up painfully.

Noticing the color drain from her face, Hassan crouched down to check her ankle. When he stood back up, he immediately scooped her up into his arms.

Cyrus stood there, visibly stunned.

Natalie smacked Hassan's chest. "It's not that serious. I can walk on my own."
