Natalie couldn't be bothered to hear an apology from this seemingly quiet but venomous child anyway. At least she had given him a nasty blister in return.
Leaving the room, she saw Cyrus still waiting outside. He was leaning against the wall, his tall, slender frame exuding a gentle yet profound loneliness. His gaze swept over her briefly before he simply asked, "Did you treat the burn?"
Natalie nodded, softly murmured a thank you, and walked straight past him.
Cyrus watched her leave, then shifted his gaze to the man standing before him.
"Hassan," Cyrus called out, his voice smooth.
Hassan's dark eyes narrowed as he stared at him for a moment before replying in a flat tone, "Cormac is looking for you. He's downstairs."
Cyrus's eyelashes fluttered slightly, a faint smirk touching his lips. "My dad actually got you to come fetch me? Interesting."
"Do you think I disrespect my elders?" Hassan replied smoothly, glancing at the little boy left standing alone in the bedroom.
Adrian hurried over, and the two walked away together.
Cyrus lowered his eyes. *Respecting elders? Hah.*
As he headed downstairs, he caught snippets of gossip.
"Hassan really treasures that kid. His entire focus was on the boy. Natalie got completely pushed out of the way, and he didn't even spare her a glance."
"Yeah, as soon as the kid was bandaged up, he grabbed him and went straight to hunt Natalie down to settle the score."
Cyrus's eyes darkened. *Was he really going to settle the score with her?*
Meanwhile, Natalie went into the walk-in closet, suddenly realizing her underwear was still in the bathroom.
She was about to step back out when Hassan walked in. "Aren't you changing? Where are you going?"
