Natalie closed her eyes. She was genuinely exhausted and sleepy, possessing zero desire to move.
When he placed her in the bathtub, she still pushed him away, wanting to wash herself.
If this were the past, she probably would have comfortably let him help her.
Hassan exercised with disciplined regularity all year round. He was very strong and could lift her effortlessly. He also knew her body well, applying just the right amount of pressure.
Being able to lie back and do nothing while someone else catered to you was incredibly comfortable and indulgent, which was why she had never refused him before.
But things were different now. She couldn't accept him washing her so brazenly anymore.
She looked up, meeting his dark eyes, her voice laced with ice. "Get out."
The man didn't move. He half-crouched beside the tub, his arms still encircling her body. "The scented candles by the tub have a sleep-inducing effect. Did you forget the last time you fell asleep in the bath? You nearly drowned yourself."
Natalie frowned, glancing at the candle nearby that was giving off a sweet orange scent. Since when did it have that kind of effect?
His long fingers slowly undid the first button of her collar. "I'll give you a massage. You can relax."
She swatted his hand away, feeling a weak palpitation in her chest. "If I want a massage, I'll go find a masseuse myself. I don't need you! Do you not understand? I told you to get out!"
Just as she finished speaking, the man lowered his head and covered her mouth with his.
Water flowed slowly into the tub, having already submerged her slender, pale legs.
When he kissed her, her body resisted fiercely. The bathwater splashed up, wetting the man's torso. He bit the corner of her lips punishingly. "Are you inviting me to bathe with you?"
"Get lost." She couldn't even finish the sentence completely.
He firmly gripped her waist, pulling her flush against his body as he deepened the kiss.
She felt like she couldn't breathe, her lips tingling. She raised her hands, digging her nails into his broad, tight shoulders and back.
The muscles of his back were sleek, without a trace of excess fat. Now, several deep, bloody scratches marred his skin.
