“From our very first meeting, to every single day after that.”
“Jacarandas used to be my favorite, but now...” Natalie thought for a moment. “Let's leave it blank for now. I don't really have a favorite flower at the moment.”
Ferris's blue eyes shifted, as if he caught the underlying meaning in her words. “Well, I hope you find a flower to call your own very soon.”
He raised his hand, pointing the one holding his coffee toward a spot in the distance. “I like irises.”
Natalie raised an eyebrow and followed his gaze. The wind swept through the Sky Garden, where a few blue irises bloomed quietly, radiating a cool, elegant grace. “They suit you perfectly.”
The Sky Garden featured a tea break area selling floral pastries and teas. She looked back at him. “You bought me coffee, so how about I treat you to some pastries?”
Ferris smiled gently and nodded. “Sounds great. Let's go.”
The two walked over to the pastry stand. “Hello there!” the vendor greeted them. “We're running a promotion today. If you take a photo together and let us put it on our photo wall, you get fifty percent off your entire purchase.”
Natalie glanced at the wall nearby. It was already covered in pictures, mostly featuring couples holding the shop's beautifully crafted pastries.
The treats here were gorgeously made, perfect for a photo op.
She turned to Ferris. “Are you up for taking a picture?”
His eyes crinkled into smiling crescents, softening the deep, striking lines of his brow bone. “Wouldn't that be fun?”
She nodded. “It would.” Turning to the staff, she said, “We'd love to, please.”
A dedicated photographer directed them, and with a quick click of the shutter, the moment was captured.
Once the photo printed, the vendor pinned it into an empty spot on the wall.
“Excuse me, we'd like to take one too.”
