“He just has severe possessiveness,” Natalie replied. “So even though he stepped out of the marriage himself, he absolutely refuses to let me do the same.”
“Is that what it is?” Ferris nodded calmly. “Men are definitely highly territorial creatures.”
Her gaze dropped back to her book, her voice soft. “Actually, women are incredibly territorial, too.”
It was true. Even though she had already decided to let him go and finalize the divorce, seeing him with Gardenia still made her blood boil.
But this frustration was different from the soul-crushing grief she had felt at the very beginning. Now, it was more of a violent urge to just kick the cheating scumbag and his mistress off the face of the earth.
As dinner time approached, she went with him to the restaurant he had booked.
Over the meal, they picked up their earlier conversation about the seminar topics, enjoying dinner for nearly an hour.
Eventually, Natalie headed back to the hotel.
The moment she pushed her door open, she locked eyes with the man's dark, predatory gaze. She jumped, nearly letting out a scream.
“Are you psycho?!” She shoved him hard, her heart still hammering wildly against her ribs. “You have your own presidential suite! What the hell are you doing in my room?”
Before the words even settled, he grabbed her by the waist, kicked the door shut, and pinned her against it without a single word.
His tongue forced her lips apart, aggressively tasting her. He claimed her mouth so deeply she felt like he was bruising her throat.
Her body reacted instantly, her fingernails digging violently into his arms, drawing blood.
She always kept her nails done in a nude polish, slightly longer than her natural ones, making it easy for them to sink deep into his skin.
Hassan's brow furrowed, but he refused to let go.
She already knew exactly how terrifying his pain tolerance was. Even if she bit his tongue until it bled, he wouldn't pull away.
She went limp, deciding to just treat it like being mauled by a rabid dog.
Just a dog with a human face.
She figured it would be over in five minutes—how long could a kiss really last?
But ten minutes later, he was still going.
