Hassan's gaze remained utterly detached. "I know exactly what I'm doing."
Realizing it was pointless to argue, Jacob looked down, tapped on his screen a few times, and forwarded the visitor's file to him. "By the way, do you have any idea where Jude Sheridan went? Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan called me asking if I'd seen him."
He shook his head. "No idea."
After Jacob left, Hassan stood up and headed back into the bedroom.
The moment he stepped inside, his eyes instinctively darted to the bed.
It was empty.
Hearing rustling from the walk-in closet, he walked over to take a look.
There was Natalie, wearing one of his dress shirts, standing on her tiptoes as she rummaged through the wardrobe.
Beneath the hem of the crisp white shirt, setting aside the faint, suggestive marks, her legs were slender and fair, her skin glowing with a porcelain translucence.
He walked up behind her, his voice softening involuntarily. "What are you looking for?"
"Clothes." She had packed all of hers into the suitcase earlier, but after turning the place upside down, she finally managed to dig something out. Clutching the fabric, she glared at him. "Get out. I need to change."
Hassan stepped right up to her. He rested one hand on her shoulder while reaching out with the other to take the clothes from her grip. "Why are you changing now? You need to rest."
Natalie's fingers tightened, maintaining her iron grip on the dress. "I know perfectly well how to go back to my own home to rest."
He took a slow, deep breath, his voice dropping to a dangerous rumble. "Your own home?"
When she refused to look at him and he showed no sign of leaving, Natalie simply pulled the shirt off and slipped the knit dress over her head right in front of him.
She reached blindly behind her back to pull up the zipper. Suddenly, another hand brushed against hers, carrying a cool, firm touch.
The man zipped her up for her. "Do you know someone named Finn? He used to be a student of your grandfather's. He recently went to visit Lyndon in prison."
Natalie froze completely, whipping her head around to stare at him. "Finn? Visited Lyndon?"
She vaguely remembered Finn. He used to grab dinner with her grandfather quite often, and the two of them were fairly close.
