"Even now, you're still going to say you don't know? If you didn't know, why would you tell Mr. Chadwick not to bring up Coralie with me?" Her tone was icy and unyielding as she interrogated him.

Standing off to the side, Gardenia had no idea what was going on. She couldn't even match a face to the name Coralie Chadwick they were talking about.

It was a terrible feeling, as if it was a glaring reminder that she couldn't insert herself between the two of them.

Gardenia stared at them for a moment, then silently walked over to Hassan's side.

They stood very close to each other.

Hassan and Natalie continued their standoff. "Didn't Mr. Chadwick explain it to you? It was exactly because I was afraid of triggering your trauma that I told him not to mention it."

She glared at him, showing zero intention of letting this go. "I don't believe for a second that's the only reason. If it were that simple, why would you go out of your way to hire someone to impersonate Coralie and chat with me online?"

"Who told you that?" Hassan stared at her, his eyes cold and dark.

Natalie let out a cold laugh. "Did you really think you could hide it from me forever?"

Gardenia didn't know the exact details of what they were discussing, but she caught the gist of it: Hassan had hired an actor to protect Natalie from suffering emotional trauma.

Even though Natalie seemed to think the situation was far more complicated, the sheer amount of effort Hassan had put in for her was undeniable.

She stared blankly at the man beside her, completely failing to understand why he still poured so much thought and energy into Natalie.

Natalie demanded, "Spill it. I'm not leaving today until you tell me."

The man's expression remained neutral. He sat down on the nearby sofa and said, "Don't leave, then. It's not like I'm kicking you out."

Natalie followed and sat directly across from him, which prompted Gardenia to sit right beside Hassan.

Natalie pulled out her phone. "I still have a copy of that recording, you know."

Hassan chuckled softly. "Are you threatening me?"

Sitting next to him, Gardenia instantly guessed what recording Natalie was talking about. "Natalie!" she shrieked.

Her tone was hysterical. "Didn't you say that if I gave you the notebook, you'd keep this a secret?! You promised you wouldn't leak the recording! You're going back on your word!"
