Gardenia wanted to step forward and comfort him, but she had barely taken a single step.

The man looked up at her, his eyes filled with an icy chill so intense it made her chest feel tight.

Pierced by that stare, Gardenia subconsciously took a step back.

His voice was hoarse and incredibly low. "Get out."

It left absolutely no room for argument.

"Hassan, what did you and Natalie just talk about?" Unwilling to just walk away, she kept her voice soft and sweet. "Tell me, and we can figure it out together. Is it because Natalie doesn't want to divorce you?"

Hassan's brow sank even lower. "Don't mention the word divorce in my presence."

He had zero patience left for her. "I'm going out."

Since Hassan was leaving, Gardenia had no excuse to linger in the house anymore. She followed him out. Originally, she wanted to ask where he was going.

But the man's freezing demeanor made it blindingly obvious that he had absolutely no desire to speak to anyone right now.

It was incredibly rare to see Hassan like this.

He was always so perfectly in control of his temper that people at the corporation joked they would probably go their whole lives without ever seeing him lose his cool.

Yet today, Natalie simply dropped by, and his emotional state completely spiraled.

The thought that Hassan's emotions were so violently affected by Natalie made Gardenia sick with frustration.

She dialed Adrian's number.

The boy didn't dare ignore her call, quickly answering even though he was currently in the middle of a tutoring session with Mr. Yates. "Mom, what's wrong?"

Gardenia rubbed her temples, snapping irritably, "Call your dad. Ask him if he can pick you up after your session today. Tell him you miss him."

There was a beat of silence on the other end. "But someone is already coming to get me."

"I told you to say it, so say it!" Gardenia was completely out of patience. "Just be good and tell him you want mom and dad to pick you up together."
