The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 134

Aaron paused, then skipped his personal suppositions and continued with his report. “I've had my people look into the models Mia mentioned, Sabrina and Zina. Sabrina is very close to Chloe. After Mrs. Baylor was taken away by the police, Chloe, Lexi, and the two models spent a long time together in a room at the villa. During my inquiries, a cleaning lady mentioned she saw Chloe give them a large sum of money through the glass door, but she couldn't hear what they were saying. By the time I went to check the surveillance footage, it had been completely erased.”

Aaron stopped there.

Hearing this, Jamie lit another cigarette and spoke coolly. “For the first contract, gather the evidence and sue Mirage Studio for unauthorized substitution of the photographer. For the second contract, suspend the shoot on the grounds of damaged equipment. Make Suzie personally liable for the damages. Draw up the official documents to reflect that. You'll handle this yourself. Is that clear?”

Aaron hesitantly nodded, then quickly shook his head. He understood the instructions, but he didn't understand the reasoning behind them.

Jamie had brought Suzie back to the manor and ordered everyone to address her as Mrs. Baylor. Yet, from what Aaron had just reported, anyone could see that the equipment incident was clearly Chloe's doing. If Suzie was held responsible for the damages, Chloe would get off scot-free.

What was Jamie's play here? It looked like he wanted to win Suzie back, so why was he protecting Chloe?

“What? You can't handle it?”

Jamie's sharp question snapped Aaron out of his reverie.

“Understood, Mr. Baylor. I'll get it done right away.”

After a moment of silence, he gave a cold command. “Aaron, take some men and bring everyone involved in these two incidents to the manor.”

Aaron couldn't help but ask, “Mr. Baylor, does that include Chloe?”

“What do you think?” Jamie retorted.

The reply left Aaron even more bewildered. If it weren't for the matter of the equipment, where Jamie was clearly shielding Chloe, he would have known exactly what 'everyone' meant.
