David craned his neck and saw two men who looked like bodyguards standing ramrod straight behind him.

“Excuse me, is Margaret here?” the man asked calmly.

Hearing someone ask for her, Margaret walked over from the living room, a puzzled expression on her face.

After scrutinizing the visitor, her tone was far less polite than David’s. She frowned and asked impatiently, “Who are you?”

The man’s lips twitched slightly. “Margaret? Nurse Margaret? May I have a word with you in private?”

The moment she heard him say “Nurse Margaret,” a chill shot down her spine. Despite the summer heat, she couldn't help but shiver.

“What… what do you want?” Margaret asked, her voice betraying her nervousness.

The man pulled a file from his briefcase and waved it in front of her. “Twenty-five years ago, you were a nurse at Riverfront Hospital, correct? Early September, the neonatal unit on the third floor…”
