The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 277

The woman’s cloying voice immediately followed.

“Darling, this one is beautiful. I want this one.”

The man grunted. “You’re too young and pretty for emeralds. That’s something for the older ladies.”

“Who says?” the woman whined, pressing against him. “The styles are so modern now! No, I want this one. Besides, that… *someone* at your house has one, so why can’t I?”

The man chuckled lecherously. “How could that washed-up old wife of mine even compare to you?”

As he spoke, his short, thick fingers roamed over the woman's waist.

Suzie couldn't stand to listen or watch any longer.

She reached out and snatched the bracelet right back from the woman’s hand. “There’s a thing called first come, first served,” she said coldly. “I was looking at this.”

The woman, who had been clinging coquettishly to the man, was stunned by Suzie’s action. With so many people coming and going, how could she stand the humiliation?

In the next second, she planted her hands on her hips and shrieked at Suzie, “You were looking at it? Did you pay for it? How does that make it yours? Who do you think you are, trying to snatch things from me?”

As soon as she finished, the pot-bellied man beside her chimed in. “Indeed, miss. It’s not very polite to just grab something from someone else’s hands like that.”

Suzie held the bracelet, her gaze slowly sweeping over the pair. She’d thought the man looked familiar from the start, and the more she looked, the more he resembled the CEO of Starlight Entertainment.
