The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 365

The moment Suzie tried to pull her arm back, Jamie caught it firmly.

It was as if he had anticipated her resistance.

He held her tightly and wrapped the gauze securely around her wound.

After a brief, silent tug-of-war, Suzie ultimately lost to his superior strength.

She stared at his bent form, her attention suddenly drawn to his hair.

Glancing around to locate Aaron, she spotted him dragging Stewart toward a car.

Suzie quickly looked back, swiftly plucked a single hair from Jamie's head, and hid her hand behind her back.

Feeling the sharp tug, Jamie straightened up and frowned at her.

Suzie immediately turned her face toward Aaron and demanded,

"Did you order Aaron to do that? This is my family business. Tell him to put Stewart down."

Jamie acted as if he hadn't heard a word. Putting on a dead-serious expression, he deliberately tried to scare her:

"Do you have any idea where thugs like that use their daggers? What they've stabbed with them? There could be incredibly dangerous bacteria, like..."

Suzie was speechless.

Seeing how serious Jamie looked, a wave of fear washed over her. She swallowed hard and offered a weak rebuttal,

"Impossible, it looked brand new."

Jamie maintained his grave demeanor. "You need to go to the hospital immediately. Aaron took my car. Give me your keys."

Suzie shot him a look, then turned to Mia.

Mia said helplessly, "Suzie... I only just got my learner's permit..."

"I can drive," Suzie declared, grabbing Mia's hand to leave. "Or I'll just get a designated driver."

Jamie trailed slowly behind her, stating flatly,

"Delaying this is bad for your wound."

He then opened the rear door and deposited Suzie into the back seat.

Seeing this, Mia hurriedly climbed in from the other side.

Unrushed, Jamie slid into the driver's seat and started the engine.

Mia leaned in and whispered in Suzie's ear,

"Suzie... let's just go to the hospital and get it looked at. Your wound is the priority."

Her arm throbbed with stinging pain. Suzie leaned in and whispered back,

"Look it up on your phone. See if whatever bacteria he's talking about is still contagious after being exposed to the air."

Mia nodded. A moment later, she handed the search results to Suzie and whispered,

"Ugh, the internet is all over the place on this. It's not reliable. We really need to ask a doctor to be sure."

Suzie frowned as she read the wildly conflicting array of information.
