"You're going through quite the transformation, Suzie," Stella Vance teased, her eyes lighting up.
Suzie's lips curled into a faint smile.
Standing next to them, Chester Lambert observed Jamie Baylor's arrival. Seeing that the man seemed to be here to play judge and jury, Chester didn't rush over to say hello. Instead, he stayed put, watching the scene unfold.
Meanwhile, Lexi's stomach was in knots. Considering how Chloe Lockwood had treated her, she couldn't blindly trust anything Chloe had said in the past. Would Jamie take Suzie's side, or would he show favoritism toward Chloe? Lexi had no idea.
If Jamie didn't care about Chloe, surely a man of his intelligence would have figured out she was behind everything back then? Yet, he hadn't let the police go after Chloe, and here he was publicly defending Suzie. Did this man... love both of them? Lexi's mind was racing, but she didn't dare make a move.
Jamie sat on the sofa, sweeping a cold gaze over the group before giving Aaron Stillman a subtle nod. Understanding immediately, Aaron gestured for the bodyguards to start clearing away the onlookers.
Suzie hesitated for a moment, but Chester caught her arm. "There's an empty booth not too far away. Let's go sit over there."
It made sense. If the crowd was shooed away from the steps below Jamie's VIP booth, standing around in the newly emptied space would be incredibly awkward. Suzie pulled Stella along, and the three of them relocated to a nearby spot.
"Mine is gone, and she just happens to be wearing the exact same one," Larissa replied between sobs. "I asked her where she got it, and she couldn't give me a straight answer. It's the limited edition you gave me—there are hardly any of them in existence. How could it be a coincidence?"
She continued to wipe away her tears, though she dared not wail out loud in Jamie's presence, despite the searing pain in her sprained ankle.
As for evidence, she hadn't actually seen the woman steal it, but the piece was identical. Plus, the woman was wearing knock-off designer clothes and hadn't been brought in by any wealthy VIP. There was no way she could afford such an expensive piece of jewelry!
Myron slapped his forehead, grinding his teeth as he hissed at her, "You have no proof, yet you made a huge scene over this?! You're going to be the death of me!"
