With that, Chester bolted out of the studio like a shot.
Suzie shot Jamie a glare and walked out the door as well.
Just as she reached her parking spot, opened the car door, and slid into the driver's seat, Jamie followed suit and got into the passenger seat.
Suzie gave him a sideways glance, thoroughly exasperated. Then, an idea struck her. She pulled her phone out of her bag, flipped through a few screens, and handed it to him.
"Here, my kids! So, stop dreaming."
To her surprise, Jamie studied the screen for a moment and said, "We had kids during these years I have no memory of? And triplets? Hmm... they all look a bit like me when I was a kid. I really like them."
Suzie: "..."
She snatched the phone right out of his hand and snapped, "They aren't yours. Get out!"
Jamie didn't move. Instead, he said unhurriedly, "No matter who looks at them, those kids are mine. Is it because I did something wrong in the past few years to make you angry, and that's why you refuse to talk to me?"
Suzie was speechless. She leaned back against her seat silently, closed her eyes to rest for a moment, and then said coldly, "Jamie, considering your amnesia, I won't argue with you. But I've been working all day and I'm exhausted. Please get out."
With that, Suzie leaned over, half-standing, and pushed open the passenger door on Jamie's side.
Jamie frowned slightly, slowly saying, "Then get some rest tonight. I'll come find you another day."
Before Suzie could issue a stern rejection, Jamie was already out of the car, shutting the door behind him.
Looking through the window, Suzie watched as Jamie didn't linger, walking straight toward his own car.
