The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 582

Aaron didn't leave her in suspense for long.

"The moment the old man gets back to civilization, the first thing he's going to do is catch up on his phone. He's guaranteed to see your face all over social media, and he will definitely come looking for you. More importantly, he's a massive fan of Sugar Buddies. If he connects the dots and realizes those kids are yours... and with Mr. Baylor's parents back in town... I'm terrified the entire Baylor family will descend on you. With Mr. Baylor tied up trying to save the company, he won't be able to run interference for you."

Suzie's throat went dry. This was her worst nightmare.

If the Baylor family found out about the triplets, Richard Baylor—who already believed in her innocence—would undoubtedly demand a paternity test. And once the truth was out, the entire billionaire dynasty would move heaven and earth to take her children away from her.

Her lips parted, but no sound came out.

Even through the silence, Aaron sensed her panic. "Ms. Sterling, I work for Mr. Baylor, but I respect whatever decisions you make. This is just my personal theory, so please don't panic just yet. But... I strongly advise you not to ice Mr. Baylor out completely. If the worst happens and a custody war erupts, he is the only one with enough leverage in that family to protect you."

Leaving the warning hanging in the air, Aaron excused himself to get back to work and ended the call.

Suzie sat frozen at her desk for a long time. Eventually, she snapped out of her daze, practically tearing through her social media feeds to see if there were any accidental photos of her and the kids together.

After digging for what felt like hours, she only found the paparazzi shots from the airport with Hayden Wycliffe. But she had been bundled up so tightly that no one could possibly recognize her.

What Suzie didn't know was that on the other side of the city, Jamie Baylor was sitting at his desk, sipping his coffee with a thoroughly satisfied smirk.

Aaron stood by the desk, looking profoundly stressed.

It was bad enough that Jamie was playing psychological chess, but he had dragged Aaron into it too. Still, Aaron reasoned, psychological manipulation was better than Jamie's previous aggressive tactics. He just hoped Suzie wouldn't get so spooked that she packed up the kids and fled the country.

"What did she mean about settling Myron's situation?" Jamie asked, snapping Aaron out of his thoughts.
