The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 584

"Nadia, I know you'll sign this, but you're going to have to convince Myron to do the same," Suzie said earnestly. Seeing the complicated look cross Nadia's face, she added, "If the information you gave me eventually leads me to my real family, I'll never forget it. I believe you can talk sense into him. Even if he doesn't care about himself anymore, he needs to think about his son."

Nadia looked from Suzie to the settlement agreement. After a long, heavy silence, she nodded.

When the barista came by with their coffees, Suzie borrowed a pen. Right there at the table, Nadia filled out her information and signed both copies of the agreement.

"I'll call you as soon as I get him to sign it," Nadia promised.

Suzie smiled warmly. "Take the bank card. It'll cover the medical bills, and there should be plenty left over to help you out right now. And as for Larissa... if you don't have a shark of a lawyer, let me know. I'll connect you with one of the best in the city. Bleed her dry. Don't go easy on her."

The money on the card was Suzie's own. Jamie had nearly beaten a man to death to save her; covering the hospital bills felt like the absolute least she could do to clear her conscience.

...

Leaving the café, Suzie drove straight downtown. She wanted to pick up some new toys for the kids and headed into Angel's Toys, one of the most premium stores in the city center.

She made her way to the back of the massive store, browsing the high-end educational sets.

Suddenly, she heard shouting near the front registers. Arguments over returns weren't exactly uncommon in retail, so Suzie ignored it, just wanting to grab what she needed and get out.
