The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 609

Hearing it was strictly business, Suzie shifted into her professional persona. "Have a seat, Aaron."

Aaron sat across from her and got straight to the point.

"This is the revenue report for the Sugar Buddies campaign. The engagement vastly exceeded our most optimistic projections, generating a highly substantial surplus. As stipulated in your contract, any revenue exceeding the initial target belongs entirely to the B-party. The method of compensation, however, is determined by the A-party. Please, take a look."

Suzie opened the folder. Scanning the financials, she was genuinely floored by the sheer volume of revenue generated. But when she read the actual terms of the payout Aaron had highlighted, she let out a dry, bitter laugh.

It was obvious now. Jamie hadn’t partnered with Timefly Studio just for a business venture; it was a calculated excuse to stay in her orbit and shovel money at her to win her back.

Not only was the base rate miles above industry standard, but he was literally gifting her the entire surplus profit. What kind of corporate giant just hands millions in pure profit over to a contractor out of the goodness of their heart?

Suzie closed the folder and slid it back across the desk. Her voice was cool and detached.

"Tell your boss that while the contract legally entitles the B-party to the excess revenue, it’s completely absurd from a business standpoint. I’m not accepting this."

Anticipating exactly this reaction—just as Jamie had predicted—Aaron smiled politely. He reached into his briefcase and produced an elegant leather-bound property deed and a heavy set of keys, placing them gently on the desk.
