Seeing Suzie still hesitating, Mia pushed harder.
"Seriously, call Stella. I guarantee you she’ll say the exact same thing. And if you’re scared Mr. Baylor is going to show up uninvited, just have Stella move into the estate with you! She’s always complaining about living alone anyway, right? Honestly, if you don't think I’m too annoying, I’ll move in and help watch the kids too! It’ll be a blast."
Suzie couldn't help but laugh. "You absolute menace. Alright, get back to work. I'll think about it."
"Yes, boss!" Mia saluted, taking a few steps away before turning back. She violently mouthed the words: TAKE THE HOUSE.
Shaking her head in amusement, Suzie walked back into her office.
The moment she sat down, before she could even open her mouth, Aaron spoke up.
"Mr. Baylor explicitly stated that this is purely a corporate financial settlement. It has absolutely nothing to do with your personal history. If you make me bring this deed back to the office, he is going to fire me on the spot."
Suzie glanced at the deed and the heavy keys on her desk, staying quiet.
Sensing her wavering, Aaron pressed his advantage. "Ms. Sterling, regarding the situation with Myron Finch the other day... I don't know what avenues you took to handle it, but I know it must have cost you a significant amount of money. This is my personal salary card. Please, withdraw whatever you need."
He respectfully placed a sleek bank card on her desk.
Suzie pushed it back immediately. "I didn't spend any money. I don't need this. Is there anything else?"
Aaron nodded, his expression turning entirely serious.
"There is one more crucial matter. Tomorrow evening, I am going to take you to meet someone. Someone incredibly important to you."
Suzie frowned, her guard instantly up. "Did Jamie put you up to this?"
"Yes." Aaron didn't attempt to lie, immediately adding, "You absolutely must come tomorrow night. This woman... she holds the answers to your biological family. Her last name is Yates."
Having dropped the bombshell, Aaron stood up.
