"Miss, are you a guest in this private room?" a server asked with a polite smile, hurrying over.

Suzie nodded.

"Let me get the door for you."

"No need," Suzie said gently, cutting her off. "I've got it. You go ahead."

After the server left, Suzie didn't go in immediately. She went to the restroom, washed her hands with cold water, and let out a long, shaky breath before returning to the door.

The moment she pushed it open, Suzie froze.

Sitting inside were Eleanor Yates—whom she had met just the other day—along with Hayden Wycliffe and Jamie Baylor.

Suzie stood rooted to the spot in the doorway. The three of them looked back at her, each wearing a complex expression.

Eleanor, in particular, was staring at Suzie with eyes brimming with a mix of agonizing guilt and overwhelming joy. Tears welled up, threatening to spill over. Her lips trembled slightly, but no sound came out.

For a moment, no one moved. Finally, Jamie strode over, took Suzie's hand, and gently led her over to Eleanor.

Eleanor raised a trembling hand, her fingers lightly brushing Suzie's hair. "My child..." she choked out. "My poor child..."

Before she could finish, Eleanor pulled Suzie into a tight embrace and broke down sobbing.

Stunned, Suzie stood frozen. She looked over at Hayden, her voice stammering. "This... you guys..."

But she couldn't get the words out.

"Mom, you're going to scare her," Hayden said softly from the side.
