Vivian threw herself into Hayden's arms, her wails echoing off the walls. "You've always loved me the most! Tell me this isn't true! Please!"
No one in the room spoke, but heavy sighs filled the air. Tears streamed down Eleanor and Judith's faces.
Suzie sat with her head slightly bowed, her hands gripping the fabric of her shirt. Sensing her discomfort, Caden reached over and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.
Hayden gently guided Vivian back to the sofa. "Vivian, please stop crying. As long as you want to be, you'll always be my sister. But the truth is out now, and blood is blood."
Vivian shot a tearful glance at the Lockwoods, then looked back at Hayden. "So what does that mean? Are you telling me to acknowledge them and leave the Wycliffes?"
By now, Judith was weeping uncontrollably. She rushed over, kneeling in front of Vivian and grabbing her hands. "My sweet girl. Ever since we discovered the child we raised wasn't ours, we've spent four agonizing years searching for you. At first, we thought Suzie was our daughter. I thought I might never see you in this lifetime, but thank God, we finally found you."
Judith fluctuated between clinging to Vivian and pounding her own chest in grief.
Vivian sat frozen, numbly processing the onslaught of information. But the moment Judith mentioned Suzie's name, her eyes slowly shifted toward her.
