The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 627

Vivian clung desperately to Eleanor's hand. "Mom, I agree to it! I'll do whatever you want! I'll listen to you from now on, I swear. I won't be stubborn, I won't recklessly spend money anymore, I'll be perfectly behaved! Please, just don't throw me out!"

By the end, she was hyperventilating, burying her face in Eleanor's lap as her deafening sobs echoed through the room.

Watching the daughter she had lovingly raised for decades completely fall apart felt like a knife twisting in Eleanor's heart. Her own tears flowed endlessly.

Across the room, Judith was crying just as hard, and even the two middle-aged fathers discreetly wiped their eyes.

Taking in the shredded documents covering the floor and the symphony of weeping, Hayden's concern zeroed in on Suzie. He quietly walked over, took her hand, and led her upstairs. "Come sit in my room for a bit," he murmured.

Suzie followed him, her face heavy with emotion. Once the door clicked shut, Hayden let out a long sigh.

"Don't overthink this, okay? And please don't be jealous of Mom and Dad. They raised her for decades—it would be impossible for them not to have deep feelings for her. We just have to get through this rough patch."

Suzie knew Hayden was hurting too. Nobody downstairs was having an easy time. She forced a bright smile. "I'm fine, really. Don't worry about me. You're the one dealing with all the stress."

"I'm a grown man. I can handle it," Hayden brushed it off, but then he paused, looking at her with deep affection and sorrow. "Over the past few days, I spoke with your friends and found out exactly how Margaret abused you. You've suffered so much all these years. But you have a big brother now. I promise, no one will ever bully you again."
