The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 630

This time, Jamie was the one left speechless. His dark, intense gaze lingered on her face for a moment before he looked out at the distant horizon. He lit another cigarette, smoking in heavy, brooding silence.

A cynical smirk tugged at the corner of Suzie's mouth. "Are you going to take back Silvermoon Villa? Or the expensive gifts you sent for my studio's opening? What about all the other random expenses? Are you going to ask for a refund? Honestly, I have no intention of giving any of it back. I used to be so incredibly naive, thinking money didn't matter. But now, I've realized that people are the most unreliable things on this earth. The only thing you can actually count on is money."

With that, she pulled his jacket off her shoulders and tossed it onto the railing. "I'm not far from home. I think I'll walk the rest of the way. Goodbye."

She barely took a step before Jamie, with the cigarette still between his lips, grabbed her arm. "Get in the car. It's not safe out here. I'm taking you home."

He stamped out his cigarette and practically shoved her back into the passenger seat.

The drive back was filled with deafening, unbroken silence.

The next day at noon.

Suzie had just finished her morning tasks and sat down at her desk when Mia walked in, holding out her phone. "Hey, what are you feeling for lunch today? I'll order for us."

As Suzie scrolled through the options, there was a knock at the door. "Come in," she called out, her eyes still on the screen.

"Suzie!" a cheerful voice rang out.

Suzie looked up and was stunned to see Eleanor and Hayden walking in. Hayden was carrying two large insulated thermal bags.

She immediately stood up. "Mom, Hayden, what are you guys doing here?"
