Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 308

Meanwhile.

After leaving the hospital, Clara hailed a cab straight home.

On the ride back, her phone buzzed with a call from Leo Miller.

Though Leo hadn't been able to attend the competition in person, he was fully aware of the drama that had unfolded, and he was bursting to talk about it.

"Julian is truly something else. After going out of his way to help Seraphina, he forced the organizers to publish The Aurelia Public Apology regarding your treatment. What kind of game is he playing?"

The apology?

He actually made the organizers publicly apologize to her?

Clara froze, certain she had misheard him.

"Leo, are you sure? Julian actually made them issue an apology to me?"

"I'm positive. The organizers posted it directly on their official website. You can see it right now. It's trending everywhere. Honestly, it's incredibly satisfying to read! I just can't figure out what Julian's angle is."

Clara quickly pulled up the website on her phone. Seeing the official statement of apology from the competition organizers, she sat in stunned silence.

The comment section was a battlefield of absolute mockery:

[What kind of corrupt executives are running this event? Do they just hand out wins to anyone with connections? (Just asking.)]

[This is pathetic. They preach fairness and transparency, yet they deliberately sabotage Ms. Vance behind the scenes. So much for fairness! Unbelievable!]

[...]

The organizers were being entirely obliterated by the public.

It was, admittedly, quite satisfying to witness.

Leo continued, "Clara, why do you think Julian did this? Could he actually be... trying to stand up for you?"

Clara gripped her phone. For a brief second, her heart fluttered, but logic quickly slammed back into place. She let out a cynical scoff.

Julian wasn't doing this out of the goodness of his heart.

He was undoubtedly using this to deflect the negative press away from Seraphina.
