Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 310

He ended the call.

Julian remained fixated on the photo on his screen. His gaze was impossibly deep as he stared at it for a long while before finally pressing save.

In truth, there were very few photos in his gallery, and even fewer of people. The handful that existed... were all of Clara.

He supposed this was simply the primal, ugly nature of men—

When they wanted something, they had to conquer it, grip it tightly, and hide it away from the rest of the world.

The corner of Julian's mouth quirked into a faint smirk.

Just then, Arthur knocked on the door and walked in, carrying a stack of documents.

"Mr. Lowell, here are the latest project approvals for your review. There's no immediate rush, so take your time. Just send me a message when you're done, and I'll come collect them."

Julian gave a curt nod, thanking him before taking the files.

Arthur considered his task complete and turned to leave.

"Wait," Julian suddenly called out.

Arthur paused and turned back. "Is there something else, Mr. Lowell?"

Julian slowly closed the folder in his hands. "Lowell Industries owns a subsidiary design firm, correct?"

"Yes, we do. Why do you ask?"

"Reach out to their project manager. Find out if they have any high-end private commissions available right now. If they do, reserve them for me."

Private commissions?

Arthur hesitated for a fraction of a second.

But it clicked almost instantly. The boss was using his corporate empire to secure practice projects for Clara so she could refine her skills before starting at her new studio.

He had to admit, the man's strategic foresight was terrifyingly thorough.

Julian probably didn't even realize how much agonizing patience he was pouring into this one woman.

"Understood. I'll contact the firm's project manager first thing tomorrow. The moment I have an update, I'll let you know."

"Good."

Julian offered a regal nod of dismissal.

...

The next morning.

Clara woke up, ate a quick breakfast, and headed straight to the hospital to visit Eleanor.

On her way out of her apartment complex, she detoured through the park to feed Snowball, hoping against hope that she might spot the missing kittens. Unfortunately, her search yielded nothing.

She would just have to look again when she got back.

...

At the hospital.

Walking down the corridor, Clara thought about the current state of her relationship with Julian and let out an exasperated sigh.

She had absolutely zero desire to put on a loving facade with him right now.

Thankfully, when she arrived at the suite, the nurse informed her that Julian had stepped out for business and wouldn't be back until the evening.
