Chapter 101
Iris’s POV
“Well, hello there.”
Chloe’s smug voice made my skin crawl.
I froze in the hallway. Chloe stood with her friends behind her like her bodyguards. All of them had the same sneer on their faces, with folded arms like they had been waiting just for me.
I groaned under my breath. Not now. My legs were already aching from walking all day, and the only thing I wanted was to collapse into bed. Dealing with Chloe was the last thing I had energy for.
“Great,” I muttered. “Exactly what I needed to end the day.”
Shane released a small sigh from beside me. “She really has the worst timing, doesn’t she?”
Chloe smirked cruelly as she stepped closer. “I thought I smelled something pathetic in the air. Guess I was right.”
I rolled my eyes, refusing to react. I had no strength to exchange words with Chloe. Maybe if I stayed silent, she would get bored and leave me.
But just as I expected, Chloe wanted trouble. She tilted her head, her eyes glinting. “What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue? Or maybe you’re too scared after what happened. Do you think you can hit me and get away with it? Well, your precious ‘Jasmine’ is not here to save you this time.”
Of course. She was here for revenge.
Jasmine and Lucas were right-Chloe wouldn’t get over the fact that I had punched her. From the way she was glaring at me, she was never going to let it slide.
“Look, Chloe,” I said, forcing my voice to stay flat. “I’m tired. I don’t have the energy for your drama. Just get out of the way.”
Her smirk widened. “Oh no, sweetheart. You don’t get to walk away after disrespecting me. Do you have any idea who you’re dealing with?” She placed her hand on her hip and leaned towards me. “I’m the future Luna. That little stunt of yours was nothing compared to what I could do to you.”
If I wasn’t so exhausted, I would have laughed. “You keep saying future Luna like it’s already carved in stone. Maybe you should worry about getting there first.”
Her expression flickered, and the smirk on her face faltered for a second before snapping back.
“Looks like you really have no manners. I hear you’ve been taking training lessons, I guess that’s why you think you’re untouchable. But in case you’re not aware, I was born into a gamma bloodline. My whole family are warriors. Trust me, I could drop you without breaking

My stomach dropped. I knew she wasn’t bluffing, and I was not looking forward to what came.
next.
She took a step closer like she was about to lunge at me…..
But Shane was suddenly in front of me.
“Move,” Chloe snapped at him.
He didn’t budge. “Not happening.”
