Chapter 108
Iris’s POV
My heart pounded in my chest, and I swallowed.
Today wasn’t normal training. Today, Lucas had said I would be sparring an omega.
His cold voice from yesterday flashed in my head. “You obviously can’t fight a regular wolf. That’s suicide. So you’ll spar with an omega. He’s trained, but not lethal. Don’t embarrass yourself.”
The words had been stuck in my head since then, echoing over and over.
And now it was happening.
To make things worse, Jasmine had decided she had to watch. I had tried to talk her out of it.
“It’s too early. You hate waking up very early in the morning. Sleep,” I had begged.
She had grinned widely, “Oh please. I can wake up early for this. I can’t miss this.”
Shane, of course, wasn’t going to miss it either. Normally he would drop me off and step out. But not today.
“I need to see if my personal training paid off,” he had said with a grin that made me want to punch him.
Asher heard about it and immediately announced he was coming too. “I want to see Iris kick someone’s butt,” he had said, looking way too cheerful.
But the biggest problem was Rowan.
Jasmine had accidentally let it slip that Rowan was definitely planning to be there.
My stomach twisted. Just the thought of him watching made my palms sweat
It was just too much pressure.
I looked down at my fists. The skin was bruised from yesterday’s drills but nothing like the shredded mess from two weeks ago.
Since the day they healed overnight, nothing strange had happened again. There was no mysterious healing again. I wasn’t sure if I should be relieved or disappointed.
“Iris!” Jasmine’s voice snapped me back to reality. She jogged up beside me, her ponytail swinging. “You look like you’re walking to your own funeral.”
“It feels that way,” I muttered.
She bumped her shoulder into mine. “Oh come on. You’ll be fine. Think of it as a public demonstration of how far you’ve come. Everyone loves a show.”

“Yeah, except the person being punched and embarrassed,” I said.

Shane joined us from behind, grinning like a proud coach. “Don’t worry. My student won’t embarrass me. At least, I hope so.”
I shot him a glare. “Your pep talks are inspiring.”
“I know.” He said mockingly.
Asher strolled beside us with his hands shoved in his pockets. “This is going to be good,” he said. “I brought snacks.”
“Really?” I asked incredulously.
He grinned. “What? A show is not a show without popcorn.”
I groaned in response.
Jasmine leaned close, lowering her voice. “You’re nervous, huh?”
I rolled my eyes. “Geez, what gave it away? The cold sweat or the way I keep looking like I’m about to run for my life?”
