Chapter 109
Iris’s POV
“I thought you said you were the only ones coming to watch?” I muttered, slowing as we reached the sparring field.
What I saw made my stomach twist. More than a dozen people were at the training area. I
could see some that looked like pack warriors, some women that I had seen at the pack market, even a few teenagers.
Shane frowned. “I thought so too.”
Asher gave a low whistle. “I guess you’re popular”
“This isn’t funny,” I hissed.
Jasmine grinned. “It’s a free show. People love free entertainment.”
“That’s great,” I said dryly. “Seriously, where did they all come from?
Shane leaned closer. “I guess the rumor spread so fast.”
“Great,” I muttered.
A loud voice rang across the field. “There she is!”
Chloe stood at the other side with her arms crossed and a smug smile on her face. She gave me
a little wave that looked mocking, not friendly. Of course she was here.
“Perfect,” I said under my breath.
Jasmine nudged me. “Ignore her. She would be disappointed today.”
I clenched my jaw. I wasn’t so sure about that.
Lucas was waiting at the center of the field with a scowl on his face. When his eyes landed on me, his frown deepened. “You’re late,” he said flatly.
“Oh come on, Lucas. She’s on time,” Asher shot back.
Lucas didn’t argue. He just jerked his chin toward the ring. “Get ready. You’re sparring with Drew.”
My feet felt heavy as I stepped into the ring. Drew, the omega I would be sparring with, stood on the other side. He was a tall lean man, he was maybe mid-twenties. He looked relaxed, and almost bored, like this was a waste of his morning.
My stomach dipped. I forced my legs to move.
Drew glanced at me, from my head to my toes, then he smirked. “This is it? I thought I would get a challenge.”

I stiffened.

Lucas’s voice cut through. “The rules are simple. No claws, no shifts. First to knock the other unconscious or force the other to yield wins.”
I swallowed hard.
“Got it,” Drew said lazily. He didn’t even look at the when he spoke.
Lucas turned to me. “Ready?”
No. I said in my head.
“Yeah,” I forced out.
Drew gave a mocking half-bow. “Try to keep up, princess.”
Princess. Heat crept up my neck.
“Begin.” Lucas barked.
Drew moved first, very quick, with a confident smirk on his face. I barely dodged the first punch. I could feel the air whoosh past my ear.
“Too slow,” he said with an amused grin.
I tried to copy the sidestep Lucas had drilled into me. I tripped on thin air and I stumbled. Drew chuckled, circling me like I was already beaten.
“Come on, princess,” he taunted. “Show me what you’ve got.”
Heat rose in my cheeks. I threw a jab. He batted it aside like it was nothing and swept my legs from under me.
I yelped as I fell to the ground hard.
Drew raised his eyebrows. “This is so easy. I thought you had some training?”
