Sparrow barely waited until we were out of earshot before he flung my hand away.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" His voice came out low, almost a whisper, but it cut like a blade. "Can't you see Scarlett's condition? Her blood pressure is so high. The worst could have happened to her. She's already in this state, and you're there acting in front of her? For what reason exactly are you crying? Why are you crying in front of her?"
I opened my mouth, but he wasn't done.
"You made her pull out her IV. You made her fall onto the floor, knowing her condition. What is wrong with you, Tasha? You know how Scarlett feels toward you. You know she cannot bear to see you hurt. Are you taking advantage of her love for you? Is that it? Knowing she'll put herself in harm's way just to make you feel better, is that why you're doing all of this?"

"Or let me know." He stepped closer, his eyes boring into mine. "Is it because of what happened in my room? Does this have anything to do with you throwing yourself at me, and me rejecting you and whipping you? Because if this is what it's all about, come at me, okay? Whatever angle of frustration you feel, take it out on me. But spare Scarlett's life, please. All she has done is love and care for you. Why do you keep hurting her?"
My throat closed up. "No, no, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I wiped at my tears, my hands shaking. "I didn't mean for it to happen. I was just shocked. I was just shocked to see Scarlett in that condition. I know I must be part of the reason she ended up in that state."
He watched me, unmoving.

I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
