"I have a few things to take care of," he said.
Scarlett waved a hand. "You can leave. Tasha is with me, and we want to reminisce and spend time together."
He smiled, reached out, and caressed Scarlett's cheek, his thumb brushing her skin with tenderness. Then he left.
I spent the rest of the day with Scarlett, talking, laughing, doing my best to hide the biggest problem of my life. I realized that as long as I was happy, Scarlett was happy too. So I kept laughing and smiling like everything was okay. I held in my hunger all afternoon, not wanting to leave her side, until Sparrow arrived, and I used the opportunity to step out and grab some snacks for myself.
Sparrow handled the food, the clothing, and every other essential Scarlett would need. I just needed to stay by her side and give her reasons to be happy. The doctor kept coming back almost every hour to check on Scarlett and see her progress.
When night came, Sparrow spoke up. "Tasha, go home. I'll stay with Scarlett."
I didn't want to be alone at home. "I can stay too."
But even Scarlett shook her head. "No, Tasha. You can't spend your whole day and night in the hospital when you're not sick. Go home and get a good night's rest, then you can return in the morning."
I sighed. "Okay. Can I make breakfast and bring it to you?"
Scarlett's face softened. "As long as it wouldn't be a bother for you, I would be honored to eat your meal."
Sparrow cut in before I could answer. "Taking care of Scarlett's meals is my responsibility."

Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
