Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 116

But now, everything she did had a tangible impact.

Seraphina pulled herself out of her thoughts, opened the project documents, and started organizing her tasks for the day.

That afternoon, she decided to make a personal visit to the raw materials plant.

The company's processing plant was located in the suburbs, about a forty-minute drive away.

She remembered Julian mentioning that their ore supply had always been provided by a partnered supplier, but recently, their delivery schedules had become wildly inconsistent, resulting in two delays already.

While it hadn't disrupted production yet, it was a ticking time bomb in the long run. She wanted to assess the situation for herself.

Before she could walk out the door, Julian stopped her. "You're going alone? That place is out in the middle of nowhere. I'll go with you."

Seraphina grabbed her bag. "No need. I'll just grab a cab, check things out, and head right back. Don't you have a sync meeting with Midland Energy this afternoon?"

Julian opened his mouth to argue but was instantly shut down. He eventually compromised. "Fine. But send me your location when you get there, and text me when you head back."

Seraphina agreed and pushed the door open to leave.

The cab navigated through downtown Northport and headed south.

Seraphina stared at the passing scenery, calculating the logistics of the raw materials plant in her head.

This supplier's contract was set to expire in six months. If they renewed, she would have to restructure the delivery timeline clauses to eliminate so much wiggle room.

If they didn't renew... then she needed to start scouting for new partners immediately.

As she brainstormed, the car suddenly decelerated, coming to a halt at an intersection. Seraphina instinctively glanced out the window, and her heart skipped a beat.

The bus stop where she had her accident last time was just a short distance ahead.

The sign was the same, and the safety barrier was still there.

She immediately spotted the metal gutter. That was exactly where she had been trapped that day, watching Dominic walk away with his arm around Cynthia without even a backward glance.

A DUI. The driver's blood alcohol level was undeniably through the roof.

But every time she thought about it, something just felt fundamentally wrong.

That street wasn't a main road. Traffic was always light, and at that hour, it was practically deserted.

Yet right at the exact moment she was standing there, a car had barreled toward her with terrifying precision.

Furthermore, there were almost zero skid marks from braking. The driver had plowed straight into her.

If he had simply lost control of the vehicle due to intoxication, why was his aim so dead-on, without even the slightest swerve?

Sitting in the back of the cab, Seraphina's brow furrowed slightly.

She knew she had no evidence to back up her suspicions. If she said it out loud, she would sound paranoid.

But that inexplicable, gnawing intuition never completely faded.
