Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 146

He gave a single nod.

"Alright." Seraphina lowered her head and quickly typed out a text to Julian Shaw: "Julian, something came up. I'm heading over to Mr. Cole's place to cook a meal for his grandmother, so I won't be leaving with you today. I'll treat you to dinner another time to make up for it."

Julian read the text over and over, his eyes widening before a knowing smile spread across his face. Seraphina was actually going to Gideon's house?

Gideon was already a few steps ahead. He didn't turn around, but his pace slowed, clearly waiting for her to catch up.

Seraphina quickly closed the distance, following him through the mall's grand lobby and down into the underground parking garage. She climbed into his car, and they drove off.

They arrived at Laurel Heights in no time.

Looking out at the incredibly exclusive, somewhat unfamiliar surroundings, she took a deep breath.

The car turned onto a tree-lined avenue, flanked by perfectly manicured shrubs and wrought-iron fencing. Through the swaying branches, the rooftops of massive, detached villas peeked out.

Laurel Heights was one of Northport's most prestigious residential communities, where every single property carried an astronomical price tag.

The place Dominic had purchased for Cynthia was merely in the standard tier.

Gideon's car, however, drove straight to the deepest, most elevated point of the estate.

The vehicle came to a smooth stop, and Seraphina followed Gideon out.

The mansion before her was far more imposing than any of the neighboring properties.

As they pushed open the door and stepped into the foyer, before Seraphina could even take in her surroundings, a chaotic commotion spilled from the living room.

"Mrs. Cole, please sit down and rest for a bit. You've been pacing for almost an hour..."

"I don't want to eat! Take it away! Take it all away!"

Beatrice Cole's raspy but surprisingly vigorous voice echoed outward, laced with a childish, absolute stubbornness.

Seraphina followed the sound. The living room was cavernous.

Over by the sofa area, three nutritionists in crisp white uniforms and a man who looked like the head butler were circling an elderly woman in a wheelchair. They were holding bowls, offering bites of food, and practically pleading with her.

No wonder Mr. Cole had produced that ointment so quickly back at the mall—he carried it specifically for the old woman.

Given how restless and energetic his grandmother was, bumps and bruises were inevitable. As a devoted grandson, he kept it on him at all times so he could treat her the moment it happened.

Once he finished applying the ointment, Gideon put it away and looked up at the table.

There were seven or eight dishes laid out, all soft, easy to digest, and vibrantly colored. The plating was immaculate; the nutrition team had clearly put a lot of effort into the meal.

But Beatrice refused to even glance at it, her expression screaming, 'No one is making me open my mouth.'

Gideon picked up a bowl of pumpkin lily soup, scooped up a spoonful, and brought it to her lips. "Grandma, just one bite."

Beatrice shook her head vigorously. "No, no! I said I'm not eating!"

Seraphina took two steps forward, and the old woman's gaze fell upon her face.

Those cloudy, stubborn eyes suddenly froze.
