Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 175

His voice was low, every word forced out through gritted teeth.

Dominic was by no means an honorable man.

Stealing supply chains or hiring people to delay an opponent from taking the stage were tactics he would easily use.

But a dirty trick like drugging someone? That was entirely beneath him.

Cynthia shook her head in panic.

"I don't know... The manager did that himself. It has nothing to do with me."

Her mind raced. Hadn't she paid someone to delete the footage? How was this still here?

But this wasn't the time to dwell on that. She needed to fix this fast.

Staring intensely at the video, she suddenly realized something.

There was no audio, and the footage skipped in places. It was obviously a recovered file, with some frames not even matching up.

The video hadn't been completely destroyed, but the sound was completely gone.

No audio meant she still had a chance.

Gideon's gaze was ice-cold, his voice even colder. "You better explain exactly what is going on here."

Cynthia took a deep breath, feigning absolute distress.

"I... I wasn't feeling well, so I asked the manager to buy some medicine for me. But when I checked it, it wasn't what I needed, so I gave it back.

"That clip just shows me returning the medicine to him."

The manager knelt on the floor, trembling violently.

Hearing Cynthia's words, he looked up and met her eyes.

Cynthia widened her eyes, offering no warmth, only a silent, deadly threat.

The manager shuddered, his head hitting the floor even harder.

"Y-Yes, that's right... Cynthia gave the medicine back to me. I-I lost my mind... I did it... Please, Mr. Cole, give me one more chance..."

Cynthia looked away, turning back to Dominic.

Her eyes grew red, her voice carrying a stubborn edge.

"Dominic, you have to believe me. I really didn't do anything."

Gideon leaned back in his chair. He lifted his gaze, but didn't move an inch.

His eyes were completely void of emotion.

"Uncle Gideon, I heard you were interested in the Northern Suburbs project. The elders in my family always told me to show respect to you. So, I plan to gift that project to you."

Dominic's jaw tightened for a split second.

"As for today, regardless of what happened, my people caused a misunderstanding. I will offer a billion dollars as an apology."

The moment he said this...

A pin-drop silence swept across the hall.

Seraphina clenched her hands tightly.

The Northern Suburbs project had been in the works at Lockwood's for three years. The total investment was tens of billions of dollars, with billions already dumped into early-stage foundations and permits alone.

And Dominic was just handing it away?

A project worth tens of billions, framed as a gesture of respect, just to stop Gideon from investigating further. All to buy Cynthia a silent pardon.
