Zach flinched, his fingers curling into a tight fist.
Seraphina patted his hand, steadying him before shooting Nadia an icy glare.
"If a monster like you is still standing, why would we fall?"
Meeting Seraphina's frigid gaze, Nadia shrank back instinctively and muttered, "Boring."
Too scared to linger, she hurried back to her original seat.
Myles approached Gideon to report on the manager, looking troubled.
"Boss, we've secured the manager responsible for the backend screens. Also, a significant portion of the security footage from the back garden was manually deleted. The tech department is rushing to recover it, but progress is slow. They won't be able to restore it entirely anytime soon."
Gideon's face darkened, the air around him dropping several degrees.
Sitting right next to him, Seraphina heard every single word.
She clenched her fists.
So Gideon was looking into the security footage too.
Cole's hosted this event. Someone causing a scene in front of his guests meant he would absolutely investigate it to the bitter end.
Earlier, she had rushed out of the security room without finishing the final save confirmation. She wasn't even sure if the full footage had been successfully restored.
Regardless, if Gideon was going to look into this, the footage would be much more effective in his hands than in hers.
Seraphina lowered her eyes and quickly tapped away on her phone, anonymously sending the downloaded video clips directly to Gideon.
A moment later, Gideon's phone buzzed.
He opened the message, and as he watched the videos, a layer of frost coated his gaze.
The backend manager was dragged in by security, collapsing onto the floor.
"Mr. Cole! I didn't mean to! I just accidentally switched to the wrong feed! Please spare me!"
Gideon's eyes remained dead cold. Completely ignoring the manager, he gave Myles a nod.
Myles took the phone, connected it to the hall's main screen, and played the security footage for the entire room to see.
Seraphina gripped her hands tight, while Zach balled his fists.
However, Seraphina frowned.
The video feed was seamless, but there was absolutely no audio. It had to be a glitch from the incomplete recovery.
She hadn't had the time to check it earlier. She had been too careless.
Nadia was already slumped on the floor, the color entirely drained from her face.
The manager kept begging, sobbing and pleading for mercy.
Cynthia stood frozen, her face pale as a sheet.
Watching the big screen, Dominic's face turned livid.
After a long moment, he turned to Cynthia, his eyes filled with disbelief.
"I told them to stall Zach. Why was he drugged?"
